The cheapest GPS tracker in Ghana is not necessarily the device with the lowest advertised price. Compare what it will cost to install, connect and use for the same period.
Fill in the missing parts of every quote
Ask each seller for:
| Cost | Amount to confirm |
|---|---|
| Tracker hardware | GH₵___ |
| Installation | GH₵___ |
| SIM or connectivity | GH₵___ |
| App or platform access | GH₵___ |
| Monthly or annual service | GH₵___ |
| Renewal | GH₵___ |
| Removal or transfer | GH₵___ |
| Support or call-out | GH₵___ |
Then calculate the same 12- or 24-month period. Do not compare an uninstalled marketplace device with a fitted service unless you add the missing work and service.
Check what happens after the sale
An affordable setup should still let you answer:
- Who installs it and tests it on this vehicle?
- How do I see the last update time?
- Which alerts are included?
- Who manages the SIM or connection?
- What happens when the device is offline?
- Who provides support in Ghana?
- What is the warranty process?
- Can I export or review trip history?
If the seller cannot demonstrate the platform or explain the ongoing service, the total cost is still unknown.
Put warranty claims into a scenario
Ask: if the tracker stops reporting next month, who confirms the fault, who removes it and who pays for the visit? “One-year warranty” is incomplete when labour, travel, wiring and replacement time are not defined.
For a marketplace purchase, keep the receipt, model, seller and activation record. For an installed service, keep the installation and support record. Either way, test the tracker after battery work or other vehicle electrical repairs.
Compare a failed month, not only a normal month
The lowest-cost option should still explain:
- how an offline device is shown;
- whether service pauses during repair;
- whether history is retained;
- whether the SIM or platform can expire silently;
- how a replacement is linked to the existing vehicle account.
This does not mean the most expensive product is automatically better. It means the quoted price should include a workable fault process.
Use AcesTrack's published price as one comparison
AcesTrack Pro costs GH₵1,000 once plus GH₵99 per month on a 12-month term. The one-time charge includes the tracker and standard Greater Accra installation.
- amount paid after installation and testing: GH₵1,099;
- Year 1 total: GH₵2,188;
- 24-month total if the same monthly service continues: GH₵3,376.
Elite costs GH₵1,300 once plus GH₵129 per month and adds an integrated microphone for lawful, authorised in-vehicle audio.
- amount paid after installation and testing: GH₵1,429;
- Year 1 total: GH₵2,848;
- 24-month total if the same monthly service continues: GH₵4,396.
There is no payment to book. Dashcams and physical fuel monitoring are separately assessed and quoted.
Do not buy a feature you cannot use safely
Remote immobilisation requires vehicle compatibility and a controlled process. AcesTrack guidance is to use it only with authorisation after the vehicle is confirmed safely stationary. Elite audio also requires a lawful purpose, notice, consent and restricted access.
Paying less for an unsafe installation or an unclear control process is not a useful saving.
Compare the result, not the adjective
Words such as “premium,” “military grade,” “unlimited” and “lifetime” need definitions. Ask what is covered, for how long and under which conditions. Request the quote and warranty in writing.
